This
is another interesting black & white film we have on offer. I was
lucky enough to come across a small stash of this MACO UP 400 plus
during a clearance sale at a small Belgian photo shop. It comes in 12
exposure rolls with frame numbers. Perfect for testing out a new
camera, or when you're just not in the mood for shooting a couple dozen
photos or more and you want to see the results quickly instead of
waiting days to finish a longer roll.
MACO (or Hans O. Mahn Gmbh & co.kg) offered
their own brand of film for a while from their headquarters near
Hamburg, Germany. but since 2004 they sell other films, mostly under
the Rollei name, along with films from Adox. AgfaPhoto, Foma and
Ilford, etc...
There has been some discussion as to who the original
manufacturer of this particular film was. Many assert it was Ilford,
while others suggest it may be Efke, or Agfa. Though as you can see
below, it clearly has the MACO edge printing and frame numbers. It has
also been said that MACO sold several different stocks of film under
the same name, so we may never know for sure, but it's a fun film all
the same.
This batch expired around 2004 but is still giving some very nice
results as
you can see.
You can see pictures shot with this and our other unique films in the:
LABEAURATOIRE
FLICKR GROUP
Here's your chance to try out a couple of rolls of this great film.
I'm making a very limited number of rolls available for your
experimenting
pleasure.
I'm
keeping these rolls inexpensive by sticking on an artsy label I've made
just so you
know what's inside. These are NOT bulk loaded so you should get the
full 12 exposures if not more. However, this is not a stock product
from Maco and I
am not proporting to represent that fine company in any manner.
My examples were all developed in our very own Labeauratoire's
Caffenol Concoction for about 15 min. at 20° c.
